Milk thistle is cultivated in Poland. It is an annual plant that resembles a common thistle. Mature milk thistle plants reach the height of 1.5m and the width of 60cm. It is characterized by dark green leaves with a white marbled pattern that are approximately 50cm in length and 25cm in width. Its seeds have from light brown to dark brown color. Milk thistle has a high content of fiber, which has been proven to have a positive effect on the intestines. It is a rich source of protein, an essential component of the human diet.

Instructions for use: Grind the seed in a mill or a mortar. The powder can be added to salads, steamed vegetables, muesli or pastries. Can be also served as a brew: mix 1 teaspoon of powder with a glass of hot water and slowly heat to the boiling point. Cook, covered, on low heat for approx. 5-10 minutes. Leave for 15 minutes and strain the dregs.
